Allen has more than 35 years experience as a corporate and healthcare lawyer. He has served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary to two companies, a specialty insurance company providing prescription drug benefit coverage and outside General Counsel to startup pharmaceutical companies.
Allen’s experience includes advice and counsel on strategic planning, regulatory compliance, health care transactions, joint ventures, the Affordable Care Act, pharma/pharmacy law, mobile patient communications, fraud and abuse, HIPAA, HITECH, intellectual property matters, private equity funding, due diligence and acquisitions, startup financings and general corporate matters.
Allen graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Walsh University and a Juris Doctorate from the Vanderbilt University School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in California, Florida, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Allen is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA), the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP), the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP) and the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP). Allen is former Chair of the New Jersey District X Fee Arbitration Committee and is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association Privacy Law Committee. Allen was a panelist at a pharmaceutical conference on value-based contracting and spoke before a trade association on PBM benchmark pricing litigation.
